Templates
App review response templates
Every template here is under 350 characters, so it fits Google Play's limit and reads well on the App Store too. None offers anything you didn't decide to offer, and none asks for a better rating. Replace the parts in [brackets] and add one detail from the review itself: Apple suggests personal replies rather than the same text for similar reviews.

Before you paste a template
- Answer what the person wrote, and say what you're doing about it.
- When a fix ships, name the version in your reply and in the release notes.
- Keep personal details out of the reply. Move the conversation to your support address.
- Don't promote other apps or ask for anything in return.
- On the App Store, billing and download problems belong to Apple Support.
- Report offensive or spam reviews instead of replying: Report a Concern in App Store Connect, and Google asks the same on Google Play.
Bugs and crashes
The app crashes after an update
When: Someone reports a crash you're already working on.
Hi [name], sorry the app has been crashing since the update. We're working on a fix for version [version]. If you can, email [support email] with your device model and what you were doing when it closed. That helps us find the cause faster.
A bug you've already fixed
When: The fix is live, and the review is older than the update.
Thanks for reporting this, [name]. The problem with [feature] is fixed in version [version], which is out now. Update the app, and if you still see it, tell us at [support email].
A bug you can't reproduce
When: You need details before you can fix it.
Thanks, [name]. We tried to reproduce [problem] but haven't managed to yet. Could you email [support email] with your device, OS version and the steps that lead to it? We'd like to fix it.
Slow, or drains the battery
When: A performance complaint without much detail.
Sorry [app] feels slow on your device, [name]. We're improving [area] in the next updates. Which device and OS version are you on? Write to [support email] and we'll look into it.
Accounts and data
Can't sign in
When: Login fails and there's a step that usually helps.
Sorry you can't sign in, [name]. Please try [one step, such as resetting your password from the sign-in screen]. If it still fails, email [support email] and we'll sort it out with you.
Lost data or purchases
When: Something can usually be restored.
We're sorry, [name]. You can usually get your [data] back from [where to restore it in the app]. If it isn't there, email [support email] and we'll help you recover it.
Billing and subscriptions
An unexpected charge (App Store)
When: The payment went through Apple.
Sorry about the charge, [name]. Payments for [app] go through Apple, so Apple Support can look into it for you. You can cancel the subscription at any time in your Apple account's subscription settings.
An unexpected charge (Google Play)
When: The payment went through Google Play.
Sorry about the charge, [name]. Payments for [app] are handled by Google Play, and you can manage or cancel the subscription in the Play Store's subscription settings. For anything else, email [support email].
Too expensive
When: A complaint about the price.

Feature requests and changes
A feature you're planning
When: It's on your roadmap.
Great idea, [name], and you're not the only one asking for it. [Feature] is on our list for the coming months, and we'll mention it in the release notes when it ships.
A feature you won't build
When: It doesn't fit the app.
Thanks for the suggestion, [name]. We're keeping [app] focused on [core use], so [feature] isn't planned. [A workaround, if there is one.]
Unhappy with a redesign

Replying to every review
Merci AI drafts a reply like these for every new App Store and Google Play review, in the language the review was written in. Its drafts follow the same rules: no refunds you didn't offer, no asking for a better rating, and Google Play drafts within 350 characters.
